Frequently asked questions

Is my data stored in the cloud?
No. Transactions and settings are saved only on your device. See our Privacy Policy.
Will App Store updates delete my data?
Yes, when you update Daily Expense from the App Store over your existing install. Data is only lost if you delete the app from your iPhone (unless you restore from a backup).
How long is history kept?
Up to 2 months of transactions. Older entries are removed automatically.
Bedtime notifications are not appearing
  1. In the app: Settings โ†’ Bedtime Reminder โ€” turn notifications on.
  2. Allow notifications when iOS prompts you.
  3. On iPhone: Settings โ†’ Notifications โ†’ Daily Expense โ€” ensure Allow Notifications is on.
  4. Test on a real device; the simulator may not behave like a phone.
How do I edit or delete a transaction?
Use All Transactions from Home, or long-press / tap a recent item on Home. Swipe or open the edit sheet to change amount, tag, note, or date.
What do weekly insights mean?
The app shows your top expense category for the selected week and compares spending to the previous week when the same category leads both weeks.
Export or backup to iCloud?
Export and cloud backup are planned; v1.0 stores data locally only. You can rely on an encrypted iPhone backup via iCloud or Finder.
